FIR against man lodged for giving triple talaq to wife on WhatsApp message in Bhopal

Bhopal: Talaiya police station in the capital has registered a case against her husband under the Muslim Women's Marriage Protection Act on the complaint of a woman. Recently, the husband sent a message on WhatsApp to the wife living in her maternal home by writing 'talaq' three times and then wrote that now the relationship is over forever. The search is on for the accused.
Talaiya police station said that the 25-year-old woman is living with her parents in Nasheman apartment in Budhwara. Three years back she was married to self-employed Masood Ahmed who runs his family buiseness, it was an arranged marriage. In the marriage, the parents of the woman had given more dowry than their status. A few days after the marriage, Masood Ahmed started harassing his wife to bring money from her maternal home. He said that he needed the money to further his business cause. When his wife and victim in the case Nayma expressed her inability to bring money in dowry, Masood threw her out of the house. For two years she has been living in her maiden house in Bhopal.
On the complaint of the woman, the police had earlier registered a dowry harassment case against Masood, which is pending in the court. The woman told in the complaint that for the last few days the husband started calling her continuously, but she was not receiving the phone. Even on February 6, in the night, Masood first called her. After this, through WhatsApp message, he wrote talaq three times and wrote that from today all kinds of relations have ended between us. The woman reached the police station along with her relatives and lodged a written complaint. After investigating the complaint, the police on Thursday night registered a case of triple talaq against Masood Ahmed. The victim Nayma alleges that her husband is having an affair outside the marriage thus he wants divorce from her and is continously harassing her. The victim along with her mother reached the District & Sessions Court of Bhopal on Friday. The victim Nayma tells that till now the police has not yet arrested her husband who had given her triple talaq through WhatsApp message.
