Hundreds of books turn to ashes due to fire at Bhopal's book depot, nearby shops engulfed in fire too

Bhopal: A fire broke out in a book depot late on Thursday night in the capital Bhopal. The fire was so severe that it engulfed two nearby shops as well. The incident is of Ibrahimpura area of the city. The fire brigade reached the spot and extinguished the fire by breaking the glass and windows of the depot. The fire could be brought under control after about four hours. Not only this, there was so much smoke of hundreds of books and goods kept in the shop that the people living nearby also had to face difficulties due to the smoke.

The matter is on Thursday late night at 1.30 pm. When people saw smoke coming out of the years old Loyal Book Depot. Thousands of books were kept in the depot. Along with this depot, smoke was coming out from two nearby shops as well. People immediately informed the fire brigade about the incident. Fire engines and tankers from Fatehgarh fire station reached the spot. But the smoke was so much that the firemen were not able to extinguish the fire. The fire could be brought under control after about four hours of effort.

There was a fire in the fall ceiling on the second floor

According to firefighters, the fire broke out in the fall ceiling on the second floor of the Book Depot. The fire was caused due to short circuit. When the fire brigade reached the spot, there was difficulty in extinguishing the fire due to the smoke. There was a lot of smoke coming out in the nearby shops as well. Shoes were kept in a shop. To extinguish the fire, the glass and shutter locks were broken and an attempt was made to douse the fire. After about four hours of effort, the fire could be completely controlled.

Years old priceless books turned to ashes

Due to the fire, hundreds of years old books kept in the depot were burnt to ashes. Four ACs and furniture got burnt along with the books. Along with this book depot, the nearby shops also came under fire. These shops have also suffered a lot due to the fire.
