MP: The Freedom of Religion Bill 2021 (Love Jihad law) to be passed today in the assembly session

Bhopal: The Freedom of Religion Bill 2021, applicable against Love Jihad, may be passed on 5 March during the budget session. Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam has set an hour and a half to debate the bill in the House. In the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Legislative Assembly, the Congress had suggested a time of one and a half hours to discuss this sensitive legislation. In the Assembly, Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra will present the Religious Freedom Bill.
Explain that the government has implemented this law in the state on 9 January 2021 through an ordinance for a period of 6 months. It has a provision to punish a person who has committed a marriage, by force, or by conversion, to marry or get a marriage with imprisonment ranging from one to ten years and with a fine up to a maximum of Rs.
Since the implementation of the ordinance, 23 cases have been registered till 11 February. Of these, maximum seven cases have been registered in Bhopal division, five in Indore division, four each in Jabalpur and Rewa division and three cases in Gwalior division.
In the Assembly today, the case of loss of soybean crop due to locust and overgrowth in Sheopur will also arise in the House. BJP MLA Jajpal Singh Jajji proposed calling attention to it. Similarly, former minister and senior Congress MLA Priyavrat Singh will draw the attention of the poor condition and public works minister of Chhapihera to Nalkheda Road in Rajgarh district. After this, many MLAs will participate in the general discussion on the budget.
