National Herald’s office to be sealed in Bhopal too, MP’s Minister Bhupendra confirms the decision

Bhopal: The National Herald case has increased the troubles of the Congress manifold. The case which was earlier limited to the Gandhi family only, now many more aspects have come to the fore. On Wednesday, taking a major action, the ED sealed the office of Young India inside the National Herald building. Now on the same lines, action can be taken at another office of National Herald in Bhopal as well. Bhupendra Singh, a minister in the Shivraj government, has made this big claim.
Why the ruckus on the National Herald of Bhopal?
The urban administration minister Bhupendra Singh has said that the property of National Herald located in Bhopal will be sealed. Due to the matter being in the court, the action could not be taken yet. The minister has claimed that several commercial offices, including Vishal Mega Mart, are functioning in the National Herald's office. In such a situation, whoever has made commercial use of the National Herald building, it will be investigated and later the property can also be sealed.
Bhupendra Singh has also informed the media that only an officer of IAS level will investigate this entire matter within a month and he will be given a detailed report. The minister has made it clear that action will be taken against everyone, be it the leaders of Congress or the employees/officers of BDA. Talking about the Bhopal office of National Herald, in the year 1981, the government had given a plot of size 1.14 acres at concessional rates. This plot was given on a lease of 30 years and according to the Bhopal Development Authority, the value of this land at that time was around Rs 1 lakh/acre.
National Herald Controversy in Bhopal
The publication of Navjeevan newspaper was also started by making a printing press here, but its publication was stopped in 1992. In 2011, when the Bhopal Development Authority reached here to take ownership of the lease, it was found that a large commercial complex has been built on the plot where many showrooms have opened. After coming to know about the formation of a commercial complex on the plot given to the press, the Bhopal Development Authority started the process of taking it over, but in the meantime many buyers came forward and the matter reached the court, due to which the action got stuck in the middle. In 2012, the Bhopal Development Authority had canceled the lease of this plot, but since then the matter between the different buyers of this plot and the Bhopal Development Authority is pending in the court.
