Consumer gets Electricity bill worth Rs 62000, no officer to hear complaint

Katni: The negligence of the electricity department in Madhya Pradesh (MP) remains a matter of concern for the public. In the coming days, the public is troubled by the disturbances in the electricity department regarding the electricity bill. Meanwhile, one such case has come to light from Katni. Where the electricity department has given a bill of 62000 to 1 consumer. However, the consumer claims that every month he pays his electricity bill on time. Also, their electricity cost remains up to 100 units per month.
Actually the matter is of Katni district. Giving a big blow to its consumer, the electricity department has handed over an electricity bill of Rs 62000 to its consumer. After the electricity bill of 62000, the consumer lost his sweat. He is constantly making rounds of the electricity department but no hearing is being done by the officials in the matter.
In this case, consumer Roopchand Soni told that 3 years ago his electricity meter got damaged. The electricity department had changed their meters. Since then he has been continuously paying the electricity bill on time. Electricity bill of more than 100 units has not reached them in any month. Whereas now in the month of August, the electricity department has handed over a bill of Rs 62000 to him.
At the same time, when the consumer complained to the electricity department, the bill has been reduced to Rs 37 thousand. After which no officer is ready to hear the complaint. The Electricity Department has given assurance of investigation in further action.
