Bhopal. An FIR has been registered at Kohefiza police station against Dr AK Jaiswal, the operator of Mayo Hospital. It is alleged that a 22-year-old girl suffering from chest infection was subjected to objectionable act in the name of treatment and was threatened and silenced when she protested. The girl had to endure exploitation till the completion of the treatment process. She complained of a lung infection. After being admitted for 8 days, he was discharged citing health. On August 1, the girl's health again deteriorated. Once again she was admitted to the hospital. There was no improvement in health till 5th August. The junior doctor told that senior doctor AK Jaiswal would himself treat her.
The girl told the police in the complaint that Dr Jaiswal took her on dialysis form and started doing objectionable acts with her. When she protested, they started threatening. The girl had to endure exploitation during the entire process of treatment. On Wednesday, she informed her family members about this and then all together reached the police station of Kohefiza where an FIR has been registered.
A similar case came into light when a 43-year-old Covid victim was raped on April 6 this year by a ward boy at Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre last month, following which she died the next day. Even after a month, the family members of the victim were not informed about incident which brought the Bhopal police under the lens.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
