Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly witnesses walkout by Congress over BBC documentary condemnation motion

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: As the budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly began on Monday, the Congress party staged a walkout from the House, protesting against the condemnation motion brought against the BBC documentary 'India: The Modi Question'. Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Govind Singh, accused the Speaker of conducting the proceedings of the House against the rules, and the ruling party of tearing democracy apart.
Singh alleged that the motion was not brought under the rule and was not even discussed in the Business Advisory Committee. He further stated that he had opposed the resolution at the same time, despite the claim that it was passed unanimously. Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Narottam Mishra, defended the motion, stating that other Congress members, except Kamal Nath, were present when the proposal was being passed.
The Congress party's walkout came after the suspension of MLA Jitu Patwari by the speaker for the rest of the budget session. The Congress created a ruckus over the issue, causing an adjournment until 11 am on March 13. Despite the Speaker's reassurance that everything had been done according to the rules, the Congress party remains dissatisfied with the proceedings.
