Bhopal: Police commissioner system is implemented in two big cities of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal and Indore, which has completed one year. Home Minister Narottam Mishra reviewed the commissioner system in Bhopal commissioner's office. Narottam Mishra said that after review, he will discuss with the Chief Minister to implement the commissionerate system in other districts of the state. Crime control has taken place due to the implementation of commissionerate. Police created its social image through Asha, Srijan and Muskaan campaign.
Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that under the Smile campaign, 552 girls were brought back to Bhopal in 12 days. 667 girls were brought back to Indore. Only in Bhopal, two thousand warrants and criminals were caught in one night. 1800 warrants were caught in one night in Indore. Recovered more than one crore 14 lakh rupees in cybercrime. Get back three crore rupees to the people in Indore. Police did a good job in the direction of women's safety. The girls were told about Bad Touch and Good Touch. Organized crimes have been reined in.
At the same time, a big decision has been taken on the completion of one year of the commissionerate system. Now public will do ranking of police stations in Indore and Bhopal. The commissioner will take feedback on the phone from the people coming to the police station. Those who complain will be asked how was the behavior in the police station, what was the problem. The commissioner will decide the ranking of the police stations on the basis of the feedback of the people. Bhopal Police Commissioner Makrand Deuskar told that the crime of habitual criminals has decreased by 50% in Bhopal.
While the home minister and the commissioner have claimed better policing after the implementation of commissionerate system in Bhopal, the picture is not that perfect. Crime rates have severely increased in the city with murders and robbery on the rise. Rape cases and kidnapping of minor child have also increased in the city. In many serious crimes journists are often keep away from the light to hide the facts of the actual crime in the city. Journalists are also not authorized to receive information about major crimes in the city and when they contact the concerned officers, they are either not able to interact with the officer or they are turned down when asked.
