Bhopal: A contractor living in Khajuri Road area poisoned his wife and four children on Wednesday morning and consumed poison himself. All have been admitted to Hamidia Hospital for treatment. There his condition remains stable. Financial crunch is said to be the reason for the incident.

Khajuri Road police station in-charge Sandhya Mishra said that 40-year-old Kishore Jatav, a resident of village Bairagarh Kalan, takes the contract to install centering in under-construction houses. He is survived by his wife Sita, 35, besides three daughters, 15-year-old Kanchan, 10-year-old Annu, eight-year-old Purva and son Abhay, 12. On Wednesday morning, after giving insecticide to all the family members, Kishore himself also drank it. After this he told his nephew on the phone that he had consumed poison. Bhanje immediately informed about the incident to 108 ambulance. An ambulance reached the spot and admitted everyone to Hamidia Hospital for treatment. As soon as the incident was reported, DCP Zone-Four Vijay Khatri also reached Hamidia Hospital and inquired about the condition of the patients from the doctors. However, the statements of Kishore and his wife and children are yet to be recorded.

In the initial investigation and interrogation of the relatives, the police have come to know that the work of the teenager was not going well. Because of this, Kishore's family was facing financial crisis. Kishore had also taken loan from some people for business. It is speculated that the teenager took the extreme step due to financial problems. The police are involved in the investigation of the matter.
