Accused Govind Singh MLA Rambai’s husband denied bail in Chaurasia murder case

Damoh/Jabalpur: In the famous Devendra Chaurasia murder case of Damoh Hat, the High Court has refused to grant bail to the accused Govind Singh. Accused Govind is the husband of MLA Rambai, who is accused of being involved in the said murder. The court of Justice Anjuli Palo, agreeing with the arguments given by the government and the objector, rejected the bail application of the accused. It is noteworthy that in August 2019, Devendra Chaurasia was murdered due to political rivalry in Gaupura Hirdepur under Hata police station, while Somesh was seriously injured. In the said case, the police had registered a case of murder against more than half a dozen accused including MLA’s husband Govind Singh. On which, Govind Singh had taken refuge in the High Court for bail. In the case, on behalf of the government and the objectors, it was told that the bail petition of co-accused Chandu alias Kaushalendra Singh has been rejected by the Supreme Court. Not only this, accused Govind Singh had also filed a bail application in the Supreme Court, which was withdrawn and this application has been filed by hiding the said fact. Further, the accused is a person of criminal nature. There are 28 criminal cases registered against him. The accused has been sentenced to life imprisonment in three murder cases. In such a situation, if he is given the benefit of bail, then the evidence can be affected. After the hearing, the court rejected the bail application moved by the accused. In the matter, government advocate CM Tiwari appeared on behalf of the government and senior advocate Anil Khare on behalf of the objector.
