In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan convened a meeting on Monday with three senior ministers, Gopal Bhargava, Bhupendra Singh, and Govind Singh Rajput, stressing the importance of avoiding messages that may create the wrong impression among party workers. The meeting aimed to promote harmony and unity within the government.
The meeting followed recent tensions between the BJP, the administration, and several ministers in Sagar district. Gopal Bhargava, Govind Singh Rajput, MLAs Shailendra Jain and Pradeep Laria, along with District BJP President Gaurav Sirothia, raised concerns about being unheard in the district. Allegations were made that the administration favored the Urban Development and Housing Minister, Bhupendra Singh, sending a misleading message to the public.
To address the situation, the Chief Minister instructed all parties involved to convene and find common ground. A message was relayed from the Chief Minister's Office to the ministers, calling for a meeting at 9 am. Gopal Bhargava, who had already left for his home area of Gadhakota, promptly returned to Bhopal upon receiving the message.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister's residence office, lasted for approximately one and a half hours. Discussions revolved around organizing the district's administration, and the Chief Minister advised everyone present to work together harmoniously. He emphasized the importance of refraining from negative talk and making public statements that could create further discord.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister encouraged the ministers to address even minor issues through open dialogue and collaboration. The impact of his advice was evident as no statements were made by any of the attendees after the meeting, and they promptly left for their respective areas.
It is noteworthy that the party has entrusted senior leaders with the responsibility of communicating with disgruntled members to ensure a unified front in the lead-up to the Assembly elections. The Chief Minister's call for unity and cooperation among ministers serves as a crucial step towards maintaining party cohesion and strengthening their position in the upcoming electoral battle.
