Bhopal: The 74th Indian Independence Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm by observing all safety measures against Covid-19. On August 15, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over the function as the chief guest at Motilal Nehru Stadium, Lal Parade Ground.
On Friday, in the presence of Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, a full dress parade and final rehearsal of Independence Day celebrations was held at Motilal Nehru Stadium.
Director General of Police Shri Johri, Additional Director General of Police SAF Shri Milind Kanashkar, Divisional Commissioner Shri Kavindra Kiyawat and Collector Shri Avinash Lavania along with other officers reviewed the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations. During the final exercise of the Full Dress Parade, Chief Constable of 7th Battalion, Shri Ramchandra Singh Kushwaha portrayed as the Chief Guest and after the flag hoisting ceremony, national anthem, inspected the parade and read out a message to all those present there. Following this the rehearsal parade was culminated.
The final parade exercise was led by Assistant Superintendent of Police, Indian Police Service, Gwalior Ms. Hitika Vasal. The role of Assistant Parade Commander was performed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ms. Shabera Ansari.
A total of nine contingents, including a police band, participated in this joint exercise parade. The other contingents included Hawkforce, Special Armed Forces, Special Task Force, a Joint Contingent of Women's Special Armed Forces, District Force and Railway Police, District Police and Railway Police, Nagar Sena (Home Guard) and Jail Department.
During the exercise, the traffic, parking and all other arrangements at the stadium including the movement of guests and security arrangements in the stadium were also closely screened. Senior officers of the district administration and Bhopal Police were present on the occasion including senior officers of Police Headquarters.
