Court terms Ajay singh guilty in Sadhna Singh and CM Shivraj defamation case

Bhopal Madhya Pradesh: The statement of senior Congress leader Ajay Singh, given 9 years ago against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's wife Sadhna Singh, has been considered objectionable by the court. The court convicted Ajay Singh of defamation and sentenced him to stand till the end of the court. The verdict was pronounced on Saturday. Ajay Singh stood in the court from 1 pm to 5 pm. The court also ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. Advocate Deepesh Joshi, appearing in the court on behalf of CM Shivraj, told that on behalf of the defense it was said that Congress leader Digvijay Singh had said so, so Ajay Singh also said it. However, Ajay Singh refused to say anything like this in his statement before the court. Contradictory things emerged in the statements. The court of Judicial Magistrate Vidhan Maheshwari of the special court set up to hear the cases of MP-MLA did not accept the arguments made in the defence. On 9 May 2013, while addressing the Jankranti public meeting in Sagar, the then Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh had given many objectionable statements on Sadhna Singh. Sadhna Singh and Shivraj Singh Chauhan couple alleged that Ajay Singh had made these allegations only to attract vote bank. After this, on June 4, 2013, in Khargone too, Ajay Singh had given objectionable statement saying that there is a note counting machine in the CM House. Shivraj and his wife filed a defamation case of Rs 1 crore against Ajay Singh in the court. The district court had registered a case against Ajay Singh on 10 October 2013. Ajay Singh also got bail on the case on 16 July 2014. A revision petition was filed against it, which was dismissed on 16 July 2016 and appealed to the High Court. On July 25, 2016, the district court framed charges against Ajay Singh.
