ABVP students allege indecency by Bhopal traffic police, staged a sit-on protest near Roshanpura Crossing

Bhopal: On Friday evening, the traffic police lifted the bike parked in the no-parking area of students of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and got it parked in the traffic police station. When the students reached the police station to collect the bike, they got into an argument with the policemen. After this, the students staged a sit-in on the main road of Newmarket near Roshanpura crossing at around 8 pm, blocking traffic. The students alleged that the police misbehaved with them. Action should be taken against the guilty policemen. The matter was pacified on the persuasion of senior officers. Although the police had changed the one-way route during the protest, people continued to be disturbed for about an hour.
ABVP's metropolitan minister Prabhakar Mishra told that some students had gone to the railway station to drop the student leaders who had come to participate in the program of the council. When they came out of the station at around seven in the evening, they came to know that the police crane had taken their bike to the traffic police station. When they reached the police station to collect his bike at around 7.30 pm, the policemen present there misbehaved with him. On coming to know about this, the students of the Parishad reached the Roshanpura square and staged a protest on the road. They were demanding action against the police personnel.
Additional DCP Traffic Sandeep Dixit says that the bike was parked in no parking, so the police took the vehicle to the traffic police station. The students have accused the policemen of indecency. If they complain, the matter will be investigated.
