Bhopal: Cyber thugs in the capital are now adopting hi-tech method for cheating. Recently, a 56-year-old man living in Gandhinagar was duped in a similar way. The online thug sent the link on his mobile and as soon as he opened the link, 19 thousand rupees were withdrawn. On his complaint, the Gandhinagar police has registered an FIR. The police has started searching for the accused.
According to ASI Vishwanath of Gandhinagar police station, Ashfaq Alam, who lives in B-39 Maple Tree Colony, does private work. On 18 September 2022, a message came on his mobile from 528797. When he opened that message, he saw a link. When he clicked on that link, about 19 thousand rupees were withdrawn from his account. He first complained about this to the cybercrime police. After that, after investigation on his application, the case diary of the crime of cheating with him was sent to Gandhinagar police station. On this, the Gandhinagar police registered a case under sections of cheating on Sunday and started searching for the accused. At present, no information about the accused has been found.
